Scarlett’s first post

We rescued Scarlett almost two years ago, and she had already lost her leg when we adopted her.   According to her paperwork from the humane society, her two year ampuversary will be in a few weeks.  I wanted to get involved in the tripawd community, as I love this 3-legged weirdo so much and am happy to provide support for others who may have any issues with having a tripawd, or who are considering adopting a 3-legged pet.

  3. Hi there! I’m new, too.
My Mikey is a rescue. He’s pushing 6 months now, but had his left rear leg taken at around 3 months.
He’s getting around wonderfully so far! I’m impressed with the improvements daily.
Today he actually pooped without stepping in it, stumbling, etc.
How old is your furbaby? If she was little when she had it removed, do you think it made a difference?
Hope to visit with you lots! Your goofball is very lucky to have you! 😊❤️
    Hugs!

    1. Hello!
That is great to hear that he is figuring things out! It really is amazing how quickly they adapt. Scarlett is almost 3, and she was about a year old when she lost the leg (we’re still not 100% sure what happened, but assume she was hit by a car). Ever since we’ve had her she has had no issues getting around at all: we figure we wouldn’t be able to handle her if she had all 4 legs! 🙂
